夫人副褘立于东房。	his wife in her head-dress and pheasant-embroidered robe stood in the eastern chamber.
君执圭瓒裸尸，	The ruler from his mace-handled libation-cup poured out the fragrant spirit before the personator of the dead;
大宗执璋瓒亚裸。	and the great minister in charge of the temple with his halfmace-handled cup poured the second libation (for the wife).
及迎牲，	When the victim was introduced,
君执紖，	the ruler held it by the rope;
卿大夫从士执刍。	the ministers and Great officers followed; other officers carried the dried grass (to lay on the ground when it should be killed);
宗妇执盎从夫人荐涗水。	the wives of the ruler's surname followed the wife with the basins; she presented the purified liquid;
君执鸾刀羞哜，	the ruler held in his hand the knife with bells; he prepared the lungs (to be offered to the personator);
夫人荐豆，	and his wife put them on the dishes and presented them.
此之谓夫妇亲之。	All this shows what is meant in saying that husband and wife had their parts which they personally performed.
