凡為君使者，	Whenever one is charged with a mission by his ruler,
已受命，	after he has received from him his orders,
君言不宿於家。	and (heard all) he has to say, he should not remain over the night in his house.
君言至，	When a message from the ruler comes (to a minister),
則主人出拜君言之辱；	the latter should go out and bow (to the bearer), in acknowledgment of the honour of it.
使者歸，	When the messenger is about to return,
則必拜送于門外。	(the other) must bow to him (again), and escort him outside the gate.
若使人於君所，	If (a minister) send a message to his ruler,
則必朝服而命之；	he must wear his court-robes when he communicates it to the bearer;
使者反，	and on his return,
則必下堂而受命。	he must descend from the hall, to receive (the ruler's) commands.
