gǔ ㄍㄨˇ (1): 莊稼和糧食的總稱。 Crops and grain.

gǔ ㄍㄨˇ (2): 俸祿。 Government wages.

gǔ ㄍㄨˇ (3): 養育。 Raise, bring up.

gǔ ㄍㄨˇ (4): 生，活著。 Alive.
| 《·》: | 穀則異室、死則同穴。 | | While living, we may have to occupy different apartments; But when dead, we shall share the same grave. |

gǔ ㄍㄨˇ (5): 善，好。 Good.
| 《·》: | 子曰：「三年學，不至於穀，不易得也。」 | | The Master said, "Having learned for three years without coming to be good - such a man is not easy to find." | | 《·》: | 民莫不穀、我獨于罹。 | | Other people all are happy, And I only am full of misery. | | 《·》: | 儀，若，祥，淑，鮮，省，臧，嘉，令，類，綝，彀，攻，穀，介，徽，善也。 |

gǔ ㄍㄨˇ (6): 告，訃告。 Inform of a death.

gǔ ㄍㄨˇ (7): 童子。 Boy, young man.

gǔ ㄍㄨˇ (8): （舊讀「gòu」）喂嬰兒乳汁。 Breastfeed an infant.
