為人子者，A son
居不主奧， should not occupy the south-west corner of the apartment,
坐不中席， nor sit in the middle of the mat (which he occupies alone),
行不中道， nor walk in the middle of the road,
立不中門。 nor stand in the middle of the doorway.
食饗不為概， He should not take the part of regulating the (quantity of) rice and other viands at an entertainment.
祭祀不為尸。 He should not act as personator of the dead at sacrifice.
聽於無聲， He should be (as if he were) hearing (his parents) when there is no voice from them,
視於無形。 and as seeing them when they are not actually there.
不登高， He should not ascend a height,
不臨深。 nor approach the verge of a depth;
不茍訾，he should not indulge in reckless reviling
不茍笑。 or derisive laughing.
