左伯字子邑，東萊人，特工八分，名與毛弘等列，小異於邯鄲淳。亦擅名漢末。又甚能作紙。漢興，有紙代簡。至和帝時，蔡倫工為之，而子邑尤得其妙。故蕭子良答王僧虔書云。子邑之紙，妍妙輝光；仲將之墨，一點如漆；伯英之筆，窮聲盡思。妙物遠矣，邈不可追。出《書斷》
