臨淮朱綜遭母難，恒外處住。內有病，因見前婦。婦字原闕。據明鈔本改。婦曰：「喪禮之重，不煩數還。」綜曰：「自荼毒已來，何時至內。婦云：「君來多矣。」綜知是魅，敕婦婢，候來，便即閉戶執之。及來，登往赴視，此物不得去，遽變老白雄雞。推問是家雞，殺之遂絕。出劉義慶《幽明錄》
