漢武帝幸甘泉，馳道中有蟲，赤色。頭牙齒耳鼻盡具。觀者莫識。帝乃使東方朔視之，還對曰：「此蟲名怪哉，昔時拘繫無辜。衆庶愁怨。咸仰首歎曰：怪哉怪哉。葢感動上天。憤所生也，故名怪哉。此地必秦之獄處。」即按地圖，信如其言。上又曰：「何以去蟲。朔曰：「凡憂者，得酒而解，以酒灌之當消。」於是使人取蟲置酒中，須臾糜散。出《小說》
