《尔雅》曰：鸴，山鹊。郭璞症曰：似鹊而有文彩，长尾，嘴脚皆赤。鸴，胡礭切。

《说文》曰：鸴，山鹊，知来事也。

3 山鹊:
《搜神记》曰：常山张颢为梁相。天新雨后，有乌如山鹊，稍下堕地，民争取，即化为一圆石。颢椎破之，得一金印，文曰：“忠孝侯印”。颢以上闻，藏之秘府。颢后官至太尉。
