	Dao De Jing:	(The manifestation of simplicity) Sincere words are not fine; fine words are not sincere. Those who are skilled (in the Dao) do not dispute (about it); the disputatious are not skilled in it. Those who know (the Dao) are not extensively learned; the extensively learned do not know it. The sage does not accumulate (for himself). The more that he expends for others, the more does he possess of his own; the more that he gives to others, the more does he have himself. With all the sharpness of the Way of Heaven, it injures not; with all the doing in the way of the sage he does not strive.

信言不美，信者，如其实也。不美者，朴且质也。美言不信。美言者，滋美之华辞。不信者，饰伪多空虚也。善者不辩，善者，以道修身也。不彩文也。辩者不善。辩者，谓巧言也。不善者，舌致患也。山有玉，掘其山；水有珠，浊其渊；辩口多言，亡其身。知者不博，知者，谓知道之士。不博者，守一元也。博者不知。博者，多见闻也。不知者，失要真也。圣人不积，圣人积德不积财，有德以教愚，有财以与贫也。既以为人己愈有，既以为人施设德化，己愈有德。既以与人己愈多。既以财贿布施与人，而财益多，如日月之光，无有尽时。天之道，利而不害；天生万物，爱育之，令长大，无所伤害也。圣人之道，为而不争。圣人法天所施为，化成事就，不与下争功名，故能全其圣功也。
