3 始计:
道者,令民与上同意也,可与之死,可与之生,而不畏危。天者,阴阳,寒暑,时制也。地者,远近,险易,广狭,死生也。将者,智,信,仁,勇,严也。法者,曲制,官道,主用也。凡此五者,将莫不闻,知之者胜,不知者不胜。
Laying Plans:
The Moral Law causes the people to be in complete accord with their ruler, so that they will follow him regardless of their lives, undismayed by any danger. Heaven signifies night and day, cold and heat, times and seasons. Earth comprises distances, great and small; danger and security; open ground and narrow passes; the chances of life and death. The Commander stands for the virtues of wisdom, sincerity, benevolence, courage and strictness. By method and discipline are to be understood the marshaling of the army in its proper subdivisions, the graduations of rank among the officers, the maintenance of roads by which supplies may reach the army, and the control of military expenditure. These five heads should be familiar to every general: he who knows them will be victorious; he who knows them not will fail.

《孙子》曰:兵者,国之大事。校之以计,而索其情。谓下五事,彼我之情。一曰道,二曰天,三曰地,四曰将,五曰法。道者,令人与上同意,谓导以教令也。故可与之死,可与之生,而人不畏危。危,疑也。言上有仁化于下,则能致命也。天者,阴阳寒暑时制。地者,远近险易广狭死生。言以九也,形势不同,因时制度也。将者,智信仁勇严。将宜五德备也。法者,曲帜制官道主用。部曲幡帜、金鼓之制。官者道者粮路主用,军费用也。凡此五者,将莫不闻,知之者胜,不知者不胜。
又曰:兵者,诡道,故能而示之不能,用而示之不用;言已实能用师,外示无法。近而示之远,远而示之近。欲进而治去道,若韩信之袭安邑,陈舟监晋而度于夏阳是也。故利而诱之,乱而取之,实而备之,敌持实,须备之。强而避之,避其所长。怒而挠之,待其衰解。卑而骄之,引而劳之以利劳之。亲而离之,佚而劳之,以利劳之。攻其无备,出其不意,击其懈怠空虚也。此兵之胜,不可豫传。传,泄也。
又曰:凡用兵之法,全国为上,破国次之。夫兴兵深入长驱,敌举国来服为上;次,兵击破得之为次。全军为上,破军次之。军四千人。全卒为上,破卒次之。上一千人,下五百人。全伍为上,破伍次之。百人至五人也。是故百战百胜,非善之善。不战而屈人之兵者,善之善者也。夫不战而敌自屈服,上;兵代谋,敌始有谋,代之易也。
又曰:故用兵之法,十则围之,以十敌一则围之,是为智,等而兵利钓而客劲操,所以倍兵围下邳而生擒吕布也。倍则分之,以二敌一,二则为当一,术为奇。敌则能战,已为士众等差者,犹设奇伏以胜之也。少则能逃,高壁垒勿与敌战也。不若则能避之,引兵避之。故小敌之坚,大敌之擒也。小不能当大也。
又曰:凡治众如治寡,分数是也。部曲为分,什伍为数也。斗众如斗少,形名是也。旌旗曰形,金鼓曰名。三军之众可使必受敌而无败者,奇正是也。先出合战为当,后出为奇也。兵之所加,如以瑕投卵者,虚实是也。以实击虚也。
又曰:故善动敌者,形之,敌必从之;见羸形也。与之,敌必取之。以利动之,以卒待之。以利害动敌也。故善战者,求之于势,专在权也。不责于人,故能择人而任势。以势者权变明也。任势者,其战人也如转木石,木石之性,安则静,危则动,方则止,员则行。任势自然。故善战人之势如转圆石于万仞之山者,势也。
又曰:凡先据战地而待敌者佚,有余力地。后据战地而趍战者劳,故善战者致人而不致于人。能使敌人自至者,利之也。诱之以利。能使敌人不得至者,害之也。出兵所必趣,攻兵所必救。故敌佚能劳之,以利烦之。饱能饥之,绝其粮道。安能动之,出其所必趋也。使敌必。
又曰:兵形象水,水之行,避高而就下;兵之形,避实而击虚。故水因地而制形,兵因敌而制胜。故兵无常势,水无常形,能与敌变化而取胜者,谓之神。势盛必衰,形露必败,能因敌变化胜之,若神。故五行无常胜,四时无常位,日有长短,月有死生。兵无常势,盈缩随敌也。
又曰:故不知诸侯之谋者,不能豫交;不知敌情谋者不能结交也。不知山林险阻沮泽之形者,不能行军;高而崇者为山,树木所聚者为林,坑堆者为险,一高一下为阻,水草渐洳为沮,泉水所归不流者为泽也。不用乡导者,不能得地利。故兵以诈立,以利动,以分合为变者也。兵一分一合,此敌为变。故兵疾如风,击虚空也。徐如林,不见利也。侵掠如火,疾如火也。不动如山,守山。难知如阴,似天阴不见外宿也。动如雷霆。
又曰:夜战多火鼓,昼战多旌旗,所以变人之耳目也。故三军可夺气,将军可夺心。左氏言:一鼓作气,再而衰,三而谒也。是故朝气锐,昼气惰,暮气归。故善用兵者,避其锐气,击其惰归,此治气者也。以治待乱,以静待哗。此治心者也。以近待远,以佚待劳,以饱待饥,此治力者也。无邀正正之旗,无击堂堂之阵,此治变者也。正正高齐,堂堂者大。
又曰:用兵之法,高陵勿向,倍丘勿迎,丘阪勿迎,佯北勿从,锐卒勿攻,饵兵勿食,归师勿遏,怀归故能死战,不可击也。围师勿斗,司马法曰:兵三面,开其一面,示生路也。若敌专陆地必空一面以示其虚,欲使战守不周也。此用兵之法也。
又曰:故善用兵,譬如帅然;帅然者,常山之蛇也。击其首则尾至,击其尾则首至,击其中则首尾俱至。
又曰:践墨循敌,以决战事。行践规矩无常者也。是故始如处女,敌人开户;后如脱兔,敌不及矩。处女示弱,兔,往也。
