何休129年 - 182年，字邵公，东汉任城樊（邻近曲阜）人。父何豹，曾任九卿之中的少府，何休依据汉代官员子弟可荫任为中低层官吏的制度开始任官。何休的学问渊博，时人誉之「精研六经，世儒无及者」，对孔子遗留下的经书有十分精辟的了解。当时的帝师陈蕃邀请何休担任幕僚，由于陈蕃在宫廷斗争中失败，何休党锢之祸中被禁锢而禁止任官，返归家乡。
何休被禁锢在家时，开始注解孔子的经书，目前仅存的唯一文本是他历时十七年才写成的《春秋公羊解诂》。
