Kezheng, was from the Hou Qianhu Office of Ningbo Wei, Zhejiang Dusi. He was a military remnant and a political figure of the
Ming Dynasty. He obtained his jinshi (imperial scholar) degree.

Biography
In the fourth year of the Jingtai era (1453), he ranked 54th in the Zhejiang provincial examination. In the fifth year of Jingtai (1454), he achieved the 34th rank in the metropolitan examination and was selected as a second-class jinshi, ranking 13th in the final imperial examination. He was appointed as a zhushi (principal) of the Armory Department at the Ministry of War in Nanjing and later transferred to become an yuanwailang (assistant minister) in the Chariot and Horse Department.

His great-grandfather was Yan Jing. His grandfather was Yan Deshan. His father was Yan Su.
