Biography
In 1459 (the third year of the Tiansun era), he ranked second in the Shuntian provincial examination. In 1472 (the eighth year of the Chenghua era), he passed the metropolitan examination, ranking 180th in the second division and 51st in the second class as a Jinshi. He was appointed as an attendant to the Board of War and later served as vice magistrate of Quzhou Prefecture. He then was promoted to deputy inspector of Fujian's Censorate. He died in 1506 (the first year of the Zhengde era).

He authored Haidiao Yifeng, Zhenxing Xinggao, and Guitian Lu.
Family
His great-grandfather was Xiao Qingshou; his grandfather, Xiao Cheng; and his father, Xiao Fuhai, who was posthumously honored as an attendant to the Board of War.
His son was Xiao Yunfeng. His grandson, Xiao Daqian, courtesy name Minfu, style name Yizhai, passed the provincial examination in 1552 (the 31st year of the Jiajing era).
