石起宗（? - 1200年），字似之。泉州晉江人（其先祖從同安徙居安海）。早年讀書於晉江靈秀山海潮庵。乾道五年己丑（1169年）登鄭僑榜進士一甲第二名，初授敕局刪定官。淳熙二年（1175年）召試館職，辭義卓著，授秘書省正字。歷任徽州知州、提舉浙西常平。善書畫，工詩賦，自言：「藏書數千卷，勝良田萬頃。」。慶元六年（1200年）十月卒，葬泉州東門外赤山鄉。其故居泉州郡城萬厚鋪（今井亭巷內）今稱之「榜眼第」。
