田牟是唐代平州盧龍（今河北省盧龍縣）人。成德節度使田弘正之子，魏博節度使田敦禮之弟。授官神策大將軍。開成（836年—840年）初年，歷官武寧、朔方節度使。累官天德（今內蒙古烏拉特前旗東北）軍使。會昌元年（841年）八月，與監軍韋仲平請求攻打回紇，唐武宗不肯，詔令田牟、韋仲平「毋得邀功生事」。官至檢校尚書左僕射。
