《史記·秦始皇本紀》:東至滎陽，滅二周，置三川郡。
《說文解字·水部》:一曰水名，在河南滎陽。
《戰國策·范睢至秦》:范睢曰：「舉兵而攻滎陽，則成皋之路不通。」
《鹽鐵論·通有》:大夫曰：「燕之涿、薊，趙之邯鄲，魏之溫軹，韓之滎陽，齊之臨淄，楚之宛、陳，鄭之陽翟，三川之二周，富冠海內，皆為天下名都，非有助之耕其野而田其地者也，居五諸之衝，跨街衢之路也。」
