孟子·万章下》:君一位,卿一位,大夫一位,上士一位,中士一位,下士一位,凡六等。
The Ruler again constituted one dignity; the Chief Minister one; the Great Officers one; the Scholars of the First Class one; those of the Middle Class one; and those of the Lowest Class one - altogether making six degrees of dignity.
礼记·王制》:诸侯之上大夫卿、下大夫、上士、中士、下士,凡五等。

论语·学而》:有子曰:“其为人也孝弟,而好犯者,鲜矣。”

He carries out with deference the measures springing from his excellent qualities and rectifies him (only) to save him from what are evil. Hence, as the superior and inferior, they are able to have an affection for each other."
扬子法言》:学,行之,也。
As for learning, putting it into practice is best.
墨子·经上》:赏,报下之功也。
Shang (reward) is requital from above for achievement below.
庄子·逍遥游》:谐之言曰:“鹏之徙于南冥也,水击三千里,抟扶摇而者九万里,去以六月息者也。”
We have in it these words: 'When the peng is removing to the Southern Ocean it flaps (its wings) on the water for 3000 li. Then it ascends on a whirlwind 90,000 li, and it rests only at the end of six months.'
道德经》:善若水。
The highest excellence is like (that of) water.
商君书·垦令》:訾粟而税,则壹而民平。
If taxes are levied according to the measure of grain, then the ruler will have system and consequently the people will have peace.
孙子兵法·始计》:道者,令民与同意也,可与之死,可与之生,而不畏危。
The Moral Law causes the people to be in complete accord with their ruler, so that they will follow him regardless of their lives, undismayed by any danger.
