予惟四方罔攸賓，	considering that there was no (central) place in which to receive my guests from the four quarters,
亦惟爾多士攸服奔走臣我多遜。	and also that you, ye numerous officers, might here with zealous activity perform the part of ministers to us, with the entire obedience (ye would learn).
爾乃尚有爾土，	Ye have still here, I may say, your grounds,
爾用尚寧干止，	and May still rest in your duties and dwellings.
爾克敬，	If you can reverently obey,
天惟畀矜爾；	Heaven will favour and compassionate you.
爾不克敬，	If you do not reverently obey,
爾不啻不有爾土，	you shall not only not have your lands,
予亦致天之罰于爾躬！	but I will also carry to the utmost Heaven's inflictions on your persons.
今爾惟時宅爾邑，	Now you may here dwell in your villages,
繼爾居；	and perpetuate your families;
爾厥有干有年于茲洛。	you may pursue your occupations and enjoy your years in this Luo;
爾小子乃興，	your children also will prosper;
