夏父弗綦逆祀，	When Xia Fu-Qi went right in the teeth of sacrificial order,
而弗止也。	he did not stop him,
燔柴於奧，夫奧者，	(nor could he prevent) his burning a pile of firewood in sacrificing to the spirit of the furnace.
老婦之祭也，	Now that sacrifice is paid to an old wife.
盛於盆，	The materials for it might be contained in a tub,
