儒家 -> 禮記 -> 孔子閒居 -> 4

子夏曰：Zi-xia said,
「言則大矣！ 'Your words are great,
美矣！ admirable,
盛矣！ and complete.
言盡於此而已乎？」Do they exhaust all that can be said on the subject? Is there nothing more?'
孔子曰：「何為其然也！Confucius said, 'How should it be so?
君子之服之也，猶有五起焉。When a superior man practises these things, there still arise five other points.
子夏曰：「何如？」Zi-xia said, 'How is that?'
子曰： Confucius said,
「無聲之樂， 'When there is that music without sound,
氣志不違； there is no movement of the spirit or will in opposition to it.
無體之禮， When there is that ceremony without embodiment,
威儀遲遲； all the demeanour is calm and gentle.
無服之喪， When there is that mourning without garb,
內恕孔悲。there is an inward reciprocity, and great pitifulness.
無聲之樂， When there is that music without sound,
氣志既得； the spirit and will are mastered.
無體之禮， When there is that ceremony without embodiment,
威儀翼翼； all the demeanour is marked by courtesy.
無服之喪， When there is that mourning without garb,
施及四國。 it reaches to all in all quarters.
無聲之樂， When there is that music without sound,
氣志既從； the spirit and will are followed.
無體之禮， When there is that ceremony without embodiment,
上下和同； high and low are harmonious and united.
無服之喪， When there is that mourning without garb,
以畜萬邦。 it goes on to nourish all regions.
無聲之樂， When there is that music without sound,
日聞四方； it is daily heard in all the four quarters of the kingdom.
無體之禮， When there is that ceremony without embodiment,
日就月將； there is a daily progress and a monthly advance.
無服之喪，When there is that mourning, without garb,
純德孔明。 the virtue (of him who shows it) becomes pure and very bright.
無聲之樂， When there is that music without sound,
氣志既起； all spirits and wills are roused by it.
無體之禮， When there is that ceremony without embodiment,
施及四海； its influence extends to all within the four seas.
無服之喪， When there is that mourning without garb,
施于孫子。」 it extends to future generations.'
