卷娄者，舜也。Of the grasping and crooked we have an example in Shun.
羊肉不慕蚁， Mutton has no craving for ants,
蚁慕羊肉， but ants have a craving for mutton,
羊肉膻也。 for it is rank.
舜有膻行， There was a rankness about the conduct of Shun,
百姓悦之， and the people were pleased with him.
故三徙成都，Hence when he thrice changed his residence, every one of them became a capital city.
至邓之虚而十有万家。When he came to the wild of Tang, he had 100,000 families about him.
尧闻舜之贤， Yao having heard of the virtue and ability of Shun,
举之童土之地， appointed him to a new and uncultivated territory,
曰冀得其来之泽。saying, 'I look forward to the benefit of his coming here.'
舜举乎童土之地， When Shun was appointed to this new territory,
年齿长矣， his years were advanced,
聪明衰矣， and his intelligence was decayed
而不得休归，- and yet he could not find a place of rest or a home.
所谓卷娄者也。 This is an example of being grasping and wayward.
