《礼》多仪。The Li contains many rites.
或曰：Someone said:
“日昃不食肉， Waiting until evening and still not eating the meat,
肉必干； the meat inevitably dries out;
日昃不饮酒， waiting until evening and still not drinking the wine,
酒必酸。 the wine inevitably sours.
宾主百拜而酒三行， The guest and host's hundred bows and three toasts of wine,
不已华乎？” are these not too extravagant?
曰：Yangzi said:
“实无华则野，If there is substance without ornamentation, then it is unrefined.
华无实则贾，If there is ornamentation without substance, then it is like a business transaction.
华实副则礼。”If ornamentation and substance are paired, then it is li.
