“甚矣！ Indeed,
圣道无益于庸也。 the sage's dao is of no benefit in common practice.
圣读而庸行，To read the sage's writings but continue in ordinary behaviors
盍去诸？”—why not just get rid of the sage's writings?
曰：Yangzi said:
“甚矣！子之不达也。 How much you fail to understand!
圣读而庸行， If one reads the sage's writings but continues in ordinary behaviors,
犹有闻焉。 he still has knowledge of the sage's teachings.
去之，抏也。To get rid of the writings is foolishness.
抏秦者，非斯乎？Was Li Si not the one who made fools of the Qin?
投诸火。He threw the writings into the fire!
