或曰：Someone said:
“圣人无益于庸也。” The sage is of no benefit to the common man.
曰：Yangzi said:
“世人之益者，What people of the world see as beneficial to themselves
仓廪也， is like a granary.
取之如单。Take from it, and it becomes exhausted.
仲尼，神明也， But Confucius possessed daimonic clarity.
小以成小， The petty use it to accomplish their petty goals,
大以成大， the great use it to accomplish their great goals.
虽山川、丘陵、草木、鸟鲁，Whether it be a mountain or river, mound or hill, grass or wood, bird or beast,
裕如也。 they all are thus enriched.
如不用也， But if you don't use the sage's dao,
神明亦末如之何矣。” even daimonic clarity cannot be of benefit to you.
