天子有善，Whatever good was possessed by the son of Heaven,
让德于天； he humbly ascribed the merit of it to Heaven;
诸侯有善， whatever good was possessed by a feudal lord,
归诸天子； he ascribed it to the son of Heaven;
卿大夫有善， whatever good was possessed by a minister or Great officer,
荐于诸侯； he attributed it to the prince of his state;
士、庶人有善， whatever good was possessed by an officer or a common man,
本诸父母， he assigned the ground of it to his parents,
存诸长老； and the preservation of it to his elders.
禄爵庆赏，Emolument, rank, felicitations, and rewards
成诸宗庙； were (all) transacted in the ancestral temple;
所以示顺也。 and it was thus that they showed (the spirit of) submissive deference.
