人知其神而神，Men know the mysteriousness of the Spirit's (action),
不知其不神之所以神。 but they do not know how what is not Spiritual comes to be so.
日月有数， The sun and moon have their definite times,
大小有定， and their exact measures as large and small.
圣功生焉， The service of the sages hereupon arises,
神明出焉。 and the spiritual intelligence becomes apparent.
其盗机也，The spring by which the despoilers are moved
天下莫不能见，莫不能知。 is invisible and unknown to all under the sky.
君子得之固躬，When the superior man has got it, he strengthens his body by it;
小人得之轻命。when the small man has got it, he makes light of his life.
