孟子所说的处士是没有官职的人。
《荀子·非十二子》：古之所谓处士者，德盛者也，能静者也。

我觉得：隐者虽有才德，但有遁世绝俗的高雅品德，不出来做官。处士与隐者差不多，但未必有遁世隐的想法。中国古代读书人一般都想做当代的周公。得志前就当处士，得志后当周公，不得志就当隐士。 |
