Linguistic issues -> erroneous character?

Posted by: zhnach | In the last line of Chu Ci 楚辞 "Tian Wen" 天问, Section 4, I see <坠> (zhui4) instead of <墬> (di4), which is a conservative form of <地> (di4)--see e.g. Shuowen under <地>, where <墬> is recorded as "Zhouwen" 籒文. The word written in the "Tian Wen" is definitely di4 'ground' ("why did the ground thus lean..." and so this character "should" be <墬>, but maybe different editions vary here? |

Posted by: dsturgeon (Donald Sturgeon) | Many thanks for pointing this out. It looks like <坠> was simply a mistake, so I've changed it to <墬>. |
