《汉语大词典》没月此项。间中，懂讲粤语者明其意，谓有时候。吾认爲并非只见闻于粤语。间中，偶或也，当中之谓，并非闲中也。
元叶顒《闲情》诗：「岁月任消磨，间中得趣多」句，显然这「间中」，指在闲情当中，亦可指闲情有时候、得趣多，所以不是「闲中」。
元杨维桢《主家词》诗：「美人间中坐，玉质缕金衣」，此间中谓当中最当，胜于谓有时候，偶或。这间中，也一定不是「闲中」。
明刘基《再次韵时闰九月九菊》诗：「岁冕移根深记取，勿令红紫间中黄」，此间中，当中也，偶或也，胜于有时候之谓也。这间中，明显不是「闲中」义。
明罗伦《古潭爲刘礼作赋》诗：「机外鸥三点，间中鹭一拳」，此间中，有时候也，偶或也，谓当中亦无妨。但可否「闲中」，若可以的话，用「闲」字更好（另有一篇《间、闲、闲定辨乎》有述之）。
清刘统勋《汪师茗诗讲寓斋同年小集》诗：「酸咸自辨间中味，聚散还同霁后云」，此间中，当中也。此间中也不是「闲中」，因爲作者十年论文当中的酸咸味只有自己知道。
清陈兰瑞《间中》诗：「万卷围身悔已迟，间中心事晚蝉知」，此间中，谓偶或最当，谓当中，谓有时候也无妨。此间中，也不会「闲中」，因爲，万卷读书中，其中心事决不闲也，而更是要「闲」、能达到大知这种心事里（另《间、闲、闲安辨乎》文有述之）。
