| | In winter, Xiang was fortified with walls. On the eleventh month of the tenth year, Wei Hou Shuo fled to Qi. Why is Wei Hou Shuo named? He was cut off [from the line of succession or from his position]. Why was he cut off? Because he offended the Son of Heaven. How did he offend the Son of Heaven? He was ordered to guard Wei Shuo, but failed to prevent a small group from Wei from crossing over to Qi on the southern side of Mount Dai. Those who bear this responsibility and abandon it will not be exempted from punishment.
