| | Shushun Bao and the Crown Prince Wu of Zeng went to Jin. When foreign ministers visit without being recorded, why is this one recorded? Because Shushun Bao led him and went with him. Why then did Shushun Bao lead and go with him? Because he was the maternal uncle of the Crown Prince. Ju was about to destroy him, so they went together to seek protection in Jin. If Ju was about to destroy him, then why did they go together to seek danger in Jin? To obtain a successor from Ju. How did they obtain a successor from Ju? There was a woman of Ju who had become the Lady of Zeng; it seems that they wanted to establish her son as ruler.

| | The Duke met with the Marquis of Jin, the Duke of Song, the Duke of Chen, the Duke of Wei, the Lord of Zheng, the Duke of Cao, the Ruler of Ju, the Ruler of Zhulou, the Ruler of Teng, the Lord of Xue, the Crown Prince Guang of Qi, the people of Wu, and the people of Zeng at Qi. Why is Wu referred to as "people"? If Wu and the people of Zeng are mentioned together, it would not be inappropriate.
