| | In the fourth year, spring, the first month of the king (i.e., the lunar new year), the Gong and Lord Qi made peace between Ju and Tan. The people of Ju were unwilling [to comply], so the Gong attacked Ju and captured Xiang. This was supposed to be a peace with Ju, then why does it say they "were unwilling"? It is an expression indicating the taking of Xiang.
