| | In the first year [of his reign], spring, the King's first month, the Duke assumed the throne. Succeeding to the throne was the right course of action; it was proper. Shushun Bao met with Jin Zhao Wu, Chu Gongzi Wei, Qi Guo Ruoyi, Song Xiang Xu, Wei Qi E, Chen Gongzi Zhao, Cai Gongsun Guisheng, Zheng Han Hu, Xu people, and Cao people at Guo.

| | In summer, Duke Qin's younger brother Zhen fled to Jin. Among the feudal lords, respect is such that brothers may not use familial terms for address. Those who refer to their younger brother as Yun are showing closeness. To flee to a close relative is an evil act.

| | Jin Xun Wu led his troops and defeated the Di people at Dayuan. The Commentary says: "Among the Chinese, it is called Dayuan; among the Yi and Di peoples, it is called Dalu." Names follow the owner's designation, while titles follow that of China.

| | In autumn, Ju Quji returned from Qi to Ju. Ju Chuan fled to Wu. Shu Gong led his troops to demarcate the fields of Yuzhou. To "demarcate" means essentially to establish a boundary. Duke Zhu Dou was buried.
