| | In winter, the Duke met with Qi people, Song people, Chen people, and Cai people to launch a campaign against Wei. They were the ruler of Qi and the Duke of Song; why are they referred to as "people"? Referring to feudal lords as "people" is used to indicate that the Duke was also a common person. Why refer to the Duke as a common person? Because he defied the mandate of the Son of Heaven.
