| | Gou: The god of the river shouted loudly, and the ferry could not cross. Go back to your original place; then there will be no great regret.

| | Qian: Having received kindness and virtue, one grows up and achieves success. Gentle submission brings favorable integrity; ruler and minister unite in harmony.

坤:東山西山,各自止安。心雖相望,意不同堂。 |
| | Kun: The eastern mountain and the western mountain, each resting in peace on their own. Though the heart may long for each other, the intentions do not share the same hall.

屯:登山上谷,與虎相觸。猬為功曹,班叔奔北,脫之嘉國。 |
| | Zhen: Climbing a mountain valley, one encounters a tiger. The hedgehog becomes an official of merit; Ban Shu flees northward, escaping to Jiaguo.

蒙:躓跛未起,失利後市。 |
| | Meng: Stumbling and lame without rising, one loses profit in the later market.
|
| | 姤之: |
需:結珠懷履,卑斯以鬼,為君奴婢。 |
| | Xu: Tying pearls with shoes, lowering oneself to the level of ghosts, becoming a slave or servant to one's lord.
|
| | 姤之: |
訟:雞鳴失時,民僑勞苦。厖吠有威,行者留止。 |
| | Song: The rooster crows at the wrong time; the people suffer from hardship and toil. The dog barks with authority, causing travelers to pause or stay.
|
| | 姤之: |
師:陳媯敬仲,示兆興姜。乃寓營丘,八世大昌。 |
| | Shi: Chen Gui Jingzhong, showing omens for the rise of Jiang. Then taking refuge at Yingqiu, after eight generations it prospers greatly.
|

比:鹿畏人匿,俱入深谷。短命不長,為虎所得,死於牙腹。 |
| | Bi: The deer fears people and hides; all enter the deep valley together. A short life does not last long, falling into the hands of a tiger, dying in its jaws and belly.
|

小畜:言无約結,不成契劵。殷叔季女,公孫爭之,強入委禽,不悅於心,乃適子南。 |
| | Xiaoxu: Words without agreement or binding cannot form a contract. Yin Shu's daughter, the season of Ji, was contested by Gongsun; forcefully entering to offer a fowl as betrothal gift, it did not please her heart, so she went to marry Zi Nan.

履:鼓瑟歌舞,懽遺於酒。龍喜張口,大喜在後。 |
| | Lü: Drumming and playing the se, dancing and singing, joy is left behind in wine. The dragon opens its mouth with delight; great joy follows later.
|

泰:凶憂災殃,日益章明。禍不可救,三郤夷傷。 |
| | Tai: Auspicious worries and disasters become increasingly clear each day. Disaster cannot be saved; the three Xi suffer injury and harm.
|

否:水流趍下,遂成東海。求我所有,買鱣與鯉。 |
| | Pi: Water flows downward, eventually forming the East Sea. Seeking what I possess, buy zhuan and li fish.
|
| | 姤之: |
同人:陰為陽賊,君不能剋。舉動失常,利无所得。 |
| | Tongren: Yin becomes the thief of Yang; the ruler cannot overcome it. Actions and movements become abnormal, yielding no profit at all.
|

大有:離床失案,龜喪其願。都市无會,叔季懷恨。 |
| | łów Da You: Leaving the bed without a table, the turtle loses its wish. The city has no meeting; Uncle Ji harbors resentment.
|

謙:壅遏隄防,水不得行。火慎陽光,陰霓伏藏,走歸其鄉。 |
| | Qian: Blocking and damming the embankment, water cannot flow. Fire cautiously emits yang light; yin rainbows hide away, fleeing back to their hometowns.

豫:躄屈復伸,本乘浮雲,貴寵毋前。 |
| | Yu: Limping and bent but stretching again, originally riding on floating clouds; noble favor has no precedent.
|

隨:實沉參虛,以義斷割。次陸服薪,成我霸功。 |
| | Sui: Shichen Shenxu, cutting off with righteousness. Following the land and carrying firewood, achieving my hegemonic success.
|

蠱:金泉黃寶,宜與我市。娶嫁有息,利得過母。 |
| | Gu: Golden springs and yellow treasures, suitable for trade in our market. Marriage and betrothal bring interest; profit exceeds that of the mother.
|

臨:禹召諸侯,會稽南山。執玉萬國,天下康寧。 |
| | Lin: Yu summoned feudal lords, gathering at Kuaiji in the southern mountains. Holding jade from ten thousand states, peace and tranquility prevail throughout the world.

觀:三䖝作蠱,踐跡无與。勝母盜泉,君子不處。 |
| | Guan: Three foxes create chaos; treading footsteps without equal. Shengmu Daoquan, a gentleman does not dwell there.
|

噬嗑:花葉墮落,公歸嫗宅。夷子失民,潔白不食。 |
| | Shi Ke: Flowers and leaves fall; the lord returns to his grandmother's home. The son of Yi loses the people, remaining pure and white without eating.

賁:履機懼毀,身王子廢。終得所欲,无有凶害。 |
| | Bi: Treading on a machine fearing destruction; the body of the prince is discarded. Ultimately achieving one's desires, without any misfortune or harm.
|

剝:道理和德,仁不相賊。君子攸往,樂有利福。 |
| | Bo: The way and virtue are harmonious; benevolence does not harm each other. A gentleman goes forth, rejoicing in profit and blessings.
|

| | Fu: Gourds united in the same prison; Ji and Jiang dwell together.
|
| | 姤之: |
无妄:關雎淑女,賢妃聖偶。宜家壽母,福祿長久。 |
| | Wuwang: Guanju's virtuous lady, a noble consort and sage match. Suitable for the family and long-lived mother; blessings and rank endure for a long time.
|

大畜:騏驥晚乳,不知子處。旋動悲鳴,痛傷我心。 |
| | Daxu: The qiji horse is late in nursing, not knowing where its foal is. Spinning and moving with sorrowful cries, it pains my heart.
|

頤:智嵓絕理,陰孽謀生。十日不食,困於申亥。 |
| | Yi: Zhayan cuts off reason; yin evils plot for life. Ten days without food, trapped in Shen and Hai.
|

大過:監諸攻玉,无不穿鑿。麟鳳成形,德象君子。三仁翼事,所求必喜。 |
| | Daguo: Observing the attack on jade, none are left unchiseled or drilled. The qilin and phoenix take form; virtue is the image of a gentleman. Three benevolent men assist in affairs, whatever they seek will bring joy.

坎:昧暮乘車,以至伯家。踰梁渡河,濟脫无他。 |
| | Kan: In the dim evening, riding a carriage to reach Bo's home. Crossing the beam and crossing the river, saving from danger without other issues.
|

離:吾有黍粱,委積外塲。有用服箱,運致我藏,富於喜糧。 |
| | Li: I have millet and grain, piled up in an outer field. Useful oxen pulling the cart, transporting to my storage; rich with joyful provisions.
|

咸:喜笑且語,不能掩口。官爵並至,慶賀盈戶。 |
| | Xian: Laughing and speaking joyfully, unable to cover one's mouth. Official ranks and titles arrive together; congratulations fill the household.
|
| | 姤之: |
恆:霧露雪霜,日暗不明。陰孽生疾,年穀大傷。 |
| | Heng: Fog, dew, snow, and frost; days are dim and unclear. Yin evils give rise to illness; the year's harvest suffers greatly.
|

遯:伯去我東,髮擾如蓬。寤寐長歎,展轉空床。內懷悵恨,摧我肝腸。 |
| | Dun: Bo leaves me in the east, my hair is tangled like a tumbleweed. Awake or asleep, I sigh long; turning over on an empty bed. Inwardly filled with sorrow and resentment, it breaks my heart and bowels.

大壯:亡羊補牢,毋損於憂。 |
| | Dazhuang: Losing sheep but mending the pen; no loss from worry.
|
| | 姤之: |
晉:販鼠賣卜,利少无謀,難以得家。 |
| | Jin: Trading rats and selling divination, small profit without strategy, difficult to establish a home.
|
| | 姤之: |
明夷:西戎為疾,幽君去室。陳子發難,項伯成就。 |
| | Mingyi: The western Rong people bring illness; the secluded ruler leaves his palace. Chen Zi raises difficulties, Xiang Bo achieves success.
|

家人:秋風生哀,花落生悲。公室多難,羊舌氏衰。 |
| | Jia Ren: The autumn wind brings sorrow; falling flowers bring grief. The royal family suffers many hardships, the Yangshe clan declines.

睽:持福厭患,去除天殘。日長夜盡,喜世蒙恩。 |
| | Kui: Holding blessings to 厌 (yàn) suffering, removing heavenly defects. Days grow long and nights end; the joyous world receives grace.

蹇:新授大喜,福復重來。樂且日富,是惟豐財。 |
| | Jian: Receiving great joy anew, blessings return in abundance. Joy and increasing wealth daily; this is abundant fortune.

解:前頓卻躓,左跌右逆。登高安梯,復反來歸。 |
| | Jie: Stumbling forward, falling to the left and encountering resistance on the right. Climbing high with a ladder for safety, returning again to come back.

損:夢飯不飽,酒未入口。嬰女雖好,媒鴈不許。 |
| | Sun: Dreaming of food but not full; wine has not yet entered the mouth. Though the infant girl is beautiful, the matchmaker's goose does not permit it.

益:大都王市,稠人多寶。公孫宜賈,資貨萬倍。 |
| | Yi: The great capital and royal market, crowded with many treasures. Gongsun should trade; wealth multiplies ten thousandfold.
|

夬:兩人俱醉,相與悖戾。心乖不同,爭訟匈匈。 |
| | Guai: Two people both drunk, acting in mutual contradiction and defiance. Hearts diverge; disputes arise in uproar.
|

萃:身无頭足,超蹠空乖。不能遠之,中道廢休,失利後時。 |
| | Cui: Body without head or feet, leaping and stumbling into emptiness. Unable to go far, abandoning halfway, losing profit and the right time.
|

升:三人俱行,六目光明。道逢淑女,與我驥子。 |
| | Sheng: Three people travel together; six eyes illuminate clearly. On the road, encountering a virtuous lady, who gives me her qiji colt.
|
| | 姤之: |
困:進仕為官,不若復田,獲壽保年。 |
| | Kun: Advancing to become an official is not as good as returning to farming, gaining longevity and preserving one's years.
|
| | 姤之: |
井:先易後否,失我所市。騷蘇自苦,思吾故土。 |
| | Jing: Initially smooth but later obstructed, losing what I traded for. Sao Su suffers hardship himself, longing for my native land.
|
| | 姤之: |
革:蘇氏發言,韓魏无患。張子馳說,燕齊以安。 |
| | Ge: Su Shi speaks out; Han and Wei are free from trouble. Zhang Zi hurriedly advises, Yan and Qi thus find peace.
|

鼎:武庫軍府,甲兵所聚。非里邑居,不可舍止。 |
| | Ding: The military arsenal, where armor and weapons are gathered. Not a place of the native village, one cannot stay or rest there.
|
| | 姤之: |
震:一身三口,莫適所與。為孺子牛,田氏主咎。 |
| | Zhen: One body with three mouths; none know what to give. Being a calf for the child, Tianshi bears the blame.
|
| | 姤之: |
艮:西山東山,各自止安。心雖相望,竟未上堂。 |
| | Gen: The western mountain and eastern mountain, each resting in their own peace. Though the heart longs for each other, they have not yet entered the hall together.
|

漸:不改柯葉,和氣中適。君子所在,安无怵惕。 |
| | Jian: Without changing branches or leaves, harmonious air is naturally suitable. Where the gentleman resides, peace prevails without fear or anxiety.

歸妺:將戌擊亥,陽藏不起。君子散亂,太山危殆。 |
| | Guimei: Attacking Dog and Pig; Yang energy is hidden and does not rise. The gentleman is scattered and in disorder, Mount Tai is perilous and dangerous.

豐:天官列宿,五神舍室。宮關完堅,君安其居。 |
| | Feng: The celestial officials arrange the constellations; five deities dwell in their chambers. The palace gates are complete and firm, the ruler dwells securely.

旅:左手把水,右手把火。如光與鬼,不可得從。 |
| | Lü: The left hand holds water; the right hand holds fire. Like light and ghosts, they cannot be followed.
|

巽:逐狐東山,水遏我前。深不可涉,失利後便。 |
| | Xun: Chasing the fox on East Mountain; water blocks my path ahead. Too deep to cross, losing advantage and causing future inconvenience.
|

兌:水瀆魚室,來灌吾邑。衝沒我家,與狗俱遊。 |
| | Dui: The water ditch and fish house; coming to flood my native town. Rushing into my home, it roams with the dog.
|
| | 姤之: |
渙:山險難登,澗中多石。車馳轊擊,重載傷軸。擔負善躓,跌踒右足。 |
| | Huan: The mountain is perilous and hard to climb; there are many stones in the ravine. Wagons dash forward, wheels strike each other; heavy loads damage the axles. Carrying burdens leads to stumbling easily; falling and spraining the right foot.

節:槽空无實,豚彘不食。庶民屈竭,離其居室。 |
| | Jie: The trough is empty with no food, pigs refuse to eat. The common people are exhausted and bent; they leave their homes.
|
| | 姤之: |
中孚:執熱爛手,火為災咎。公孫无賴,敗我玉寶。 |
| | Zhongfu: Holding something hot burns the hands, fire brings disaster and blame. Gongsun Wulai ruins my jade treasure.
|
| | 姤之: |
小過:三虎上山,更相噬囓。心志不親,如仇與怨。 |
| | Xiaoguo: Three tigers ascend the mountain, biting and attacking each other in turn. The heart's intentions are not close; like enemies and grudges.
|

既濟:西家嫁子,借鄰送女。嘉我淑姬,賓主俱喜。 |
| | Jiji: The western neighbor marries off her son, borrowing the neighbor to send off a daughter. Praising my virtuous wife; both guest and host are delighted.
|

未濟:克身潔己,逢禹巡狩。錫我玄圭,拜受福祉。 |
| | Weiji: Restraint of the body, purification of oneself, meeting Yu on his inspection tour. Bestowing upon me a dark jade tablet; I bow and receive blessings and fortune.
