蚊：〔古文〕蟁《唐韻》《正韻》𠀤無分切，音文。《說文》囓人飛蟲也。《續博物志》地濕則生蚊。《大戴禮》白鳥者，謂蚊蚋也。《爾雅翼》蚊者，惡水中孑孑所化，噆人肌膚，其聲如雷。《莊子·天運篇》蚊蝱噆膚，則通昔不寐矣。又《唐國史補》江東有蚊母鳥，亦謂吐蚊鳥，夏則夜鳴，吐蚊于叢葦閒，湖州尤甚。又蚊子樹，實類枇杷，熟則自裂，蚊盡而空殼矣。《韻會》作蟁。《集韻》亦作𧓹𧏎䘇。
