| | Qimu was the eldest daughter of Tushan Shi. Xia Yu married her and made her his wife. After she gave birth to Qi, on the Xin, Ren, Gui, and Jia days, Qi cried loudly; Yu left to control the floods, devoting himself entirely to managing the land works. He passed by his home three times but did not enter the door. Tushan alone understood education and instruction, thus achieving transformation through her efforts.

| | When Qi grew up, he was transformed by her virtue and followed her teachings, ultimately attaining a distinguished reputation. Yu became the Son of Heaven, and Qi succeeded him; he upheld Yu's achievements without failure. The gentlemen said that Tushan was strong in teaching and instruction. The "Shi" says: "Establish your men and women, and follow them with descendants." This is what it means.

| | Eulogy says: The mother of Qi, Tushan, was the wife of Emperor Yu. On Xin, Ren, Gui and Jia days, Yu went out to manage the land; when Qi cried loudly in sorrow, his mother alone arranged things properly. Through her good instruction, she ultimately succeeded her husband's legacy.
