服閭者，不知何所人也，常止莒，往來海邊諸祠中。有三仙人於祠中博賭瓜，僱閭，令擔黃白瓜數十頭，教令瞑目。及覺，乃在方丈山（在蓬萊山南）。後往來莒，取方丈山上珍寶珠玉賣之，久矣。一旦，髡頭著赭衣，貌更老，人問之，言坐取廟中物云。後數年，貌更壯好，鬢髮如往日時矣。 |
| | Fu Lü was a man whose place of origin is unknown. He often stayed in Ju, traveling back and forth among the temples along the seashore. Three immortals were gambling for melons in a temple, and Fu Lü was hired to carry dozens of yellow and white melons. They instructed him to close his eyes. When he opened his eyes again, he found himself on Fangzhang Mountain (located south of Penglai Mountain). Later, Fu Lü traveled back and forth to Ju, taking precious treasures and jewels from Fangzhang Mountain to sell; this had been going on for a long time. One day, he shaved his head and wore a reddish-yellow robe, looking much older. When people asked him about it, he said that he had been punished for taking things from the temple. Several years later, his appearance became strong and handsome again, with eyebrows and hair as they were in former days.

服閭游祠，三仙是使。假寐須臾，忽超千里。納寶毀形，未足多恥。攀龍附鳳，逍遙終始。 |
| | Fu Lü visited the temples; three immortals sent him on a task. He dozed off for a moment, and suddenly found himself thousands of miles away. Accepting treasures and damaging one's appearance was not enough to bring great shame. Climbing on the dragon and attaching oneself to the phoenix, he remained carefree from beginning to end.
