涓子者齊人也，好餌朮，接食其精。至三百年乃見於齊，著《天人經》四十八篇。後釣於荷澤。得鯉魚腹中有符，隱於宕山，能致風雨。受伯陽《九仙法》。淮南山安，少得其文，不能解其旨也。其《琴心》三篇，有條理焉。 |
| | Juanzi was a native of Qi. He liked making pills and consumed their essence by eating them. After three hundred years, he appeared in Qi and authored the Tianren Jing (Scripture of Heaven and Humanity) consisting of forty-eight chapters. Later, he fished at Heze. He found a talisman inside the belly of a carp and hid in Dangshan, where he was able to summon wind and rain. He received the "Nine Immortals Method" from Boyang. Huainan Shanan, when young, obtained its text but could not understand its meaning. Its three chapters of Qin Xin (The Mind of the Zither) are well-organized.

| | Juan, through his pill-making techniques, enjoyed a long life and reached an advanced age. After the Nine Immortals' teachings were transmitted, the Three Talents became orderly. The red carp cast a talisman; thus, he was able to control wind and rain. Strumming the zither in secluded cliffs, he dwelled aloft on distant peaks.
