| 47 | 道虚: | 此又虚也。夫气谓何气也？如谓阴阳之气，阴阳之气不能饱人。人或咽气，气满腹胀，不能餍饱。如谓百药之气，人或服药，食一合屑，吞数十丸，药力烈盛，胸中愦毒，不能饱人。 |
| Daoxu: | This too is erroneous. What kind of fluid is understood by fluid? If the fluid of the Yin and the Yang be meant, this fluid cannot satiate people. They may inhale this fluid, so that it fills their belly and bowels, yet they cannot feel satiated. If the fluid inherent in medicine be meant, man may use and eat a case full of dry drugs, or swallow some ten pills. But the effects of medicine are very strong. They cause great pain in the chest, but cannot feed a man. |
