| | Taiyangnu was a woman surnamed Zhu and named Yi. He expounded the Five Elements doctrine, adding thoughts and improvements to it, thus making its application subtle and effective; his method was very efficacious and rapid. He was 280 years old, his complexion as rosy as peach blossoms, his mouth as if containing cinnabar, his skin and flesh full and lustrous, his eyebrows and temples painted like a picture; he looked just like someone in their late teens or early twenties. He served Juedongzi. When the elixir was completed, it was bestowed upon him, and he also attained immortality and ascended to heaven.
