后唐庄宗年十一从晋王讨王行瑜。初令入觐献捷，昭宗一见，骇异之曰。此子有奇表。乃抚其背曰。儿将来之国栋，勿忘忠孝于吾家。乃赐鸂鶒酒巵。翡翠盘。十三读春秋，略知大义。骑射绝伦。其心豁如，采录善言，听纳容物，殆刘聪之比也。又云，昭宗曰。此子可亚其父。时人号曰亚子。出《北梦琐言》
