《隋书》曰：宇文述素好著奇服，炫耀时人。云定兴为制马鞯，于后角上缺方三寸，以露白色。世轻薄者争效学之，谓为许公缺势。又遇天寒，定兴曰：“宿卫必当耳冷。”述曰：“然。”乃制夹头巾，令深袹音陌。耳。又学之，名为许公袹势。述大悦曰：“云兄所作，必能变俗。我闻作事可法，故不虚也。”
