1 鷓鴣:
崔鴻《蜀錄》曰：蜀連有災，天雨血，地仍震，地生毛，鷓鴣集城下。

2 鷓鴣:
《異物志》曰：鷓鴣，其形似雌雞。其志懷南不始北，其名呼飛「但南不北」。其肉肥美，宜炙，可以飲酒，為諸膳也。

3 鷓鴣:
《嶺表錄異》曰：鷓鴣臆前有白圓點，背上間紫赤毛，其大如小野雞，多對啼。

4 鷓鴣:
《南越志》曰：鷓鴣雖東西回翔，然開翅之始，必先南翥。亦胡馬嘶北之義也。其鳴自呼「社」。《薄州本草》云：「自呼鉤辀格磔。」李群玉《山行聞鷓鴣詩》云：「方穿詰曲崎嶇路，又聽鉤辀格磔聲。」
