《世贄記》曰：聚窟洲，在西海中申未地上，有大樹，與楓木相似，而華葉香聞數百里。名為返魂樹。叩其樹，樹亦能自聲，聲如牛吼，聞之者皆心振神駭。伐其根心，於玉釜中煮取汁，微火熟煎之，令為丸，名曰驚精香，或名震靈丸，或名反生香，或名人鳥精，或名卻死香。斯靈物也，香氣聞數百里。死尸在地，聞氣仍活。
