1 秦风:
晨风，刺康公也。忘穆公之业，始弃其贤臣焉。
Chen Feng was a native of Cikang Gong. They forgot the achievements of Mu Gong, and thus began to abandon their virtuous ministers.

2 秦风:
鴥彼晨风，郁彼北林，兴也。鴥，疾飞貌也。晨风，鸇也。郁，积也。先君招贤人，贤人归往之，驶疾如晨风之飞入北林也。未见君子，忧心钦钦，言穆公始未见君子之时，思望而忧钦钦然也。如何如何，忘我实多。此言穆公之意，责康公如何乎如何乎。汝忘我之事实多大也。
The swift morning wind, dense is that northern forest, an expression of inspiration. Yu means flying swiftly. Chen Feng is a zhun, a kind of bird. Yu means accumulation. The former ruler summoned virtuous men, and the virtuous men came to him, rushing swiftly like the morning wind flying into the northern forest. Not having seen a gentleman, my anxious heart is full of longing. This means that at the beginning when Mu Gong had not yet met a gentleman, he longed for and worried with deep yearning. How could it be? How could it be? They have forgotten me so much. This means the words express Mu Gong's thoughts, blaming Cikang Gong: "How is this possible? How is this possible?" You have forgotten my affairs to a great extent.

3 秦风:
渭阳，康公念母也。康公之母，晋献公之女，文公遭孋姬之难，未反而秦姬卒，穆公纳文公，康公时为太子，赠送文公于渭之阳，念母之不见也。我见舅氏，如母存焉。及其即位，思而作是诗也。
Weiyang was composed by Cikang Gong, expressing his thoughts of his mother. Cikang Gong's mother was the daughter of Jin Xian Gong. When Duke Wen of Jin encountered difficulties caused by Lady Liji, he had not yet returned when his wife from Qin passed away. Duke Mu received Duke Wen, and at that time Cikang Gong was the crown prince. He bid farewell to Duke Wen on the south bank of the Wei River, expressing sorrow over his mother's inability to see this moment. When I saw my maternal uncle, it was as if my mother were still alive. After he ascended the throne, he composed this poem in thoughtfulness.

4 秦风:
我送舅氏，曰至渭阳，渭，水名也。何以赠之，路车乘黄，赠，送也。乘黄，驷马皆黄也。我送舅氏，悠悠我思，何以赠之，琼瑰玉佩。琼瑰，美石而次玉者也。
I sent off my maternal uncle and said that I would go as far as Weiyang, Weishui is the name of a river. What can I give him? A carriage drawn by yellow horses for the road. Zeng means to send off. Cheng Huang refers to four yellow horses pulling a carriage. I sent off my maternal uncle; my thoughts for him are endless. What can I give him? Precious stones and jade pendants. Qionggui refers to beautiful stones that are second only to jade.

5 秦风:
权舆，刺康公也。忘先君之旧臣，与贤者有始而无终也。
Quanyu was a satire of Cikang Gong. He forgot the old ministers of his predecessor and had no end to his dealings with virtuous men, only beginning but not continuing.

6 秦风:
于我乎。夏屋渠渠，夏，大也。屋，具也。渠渠，犹勤勤也。言君始于我厚，设礼食大具以食我，其意勤勤然。今也。每食无馀，此言君今遇我薄，其食我裁足也。于嗟乎。不承权舆。承，继也。权舆，始也。
For me? A grand and spacious house, Xia means large. Wu means a building or structure. Ququ is similar to qin qin, meaning diligent and earnest. It means that the ruler was initially kind to me, setting up grand banquets with abundant food for me; his intention was earnest and sincere. Now, however. Each meal leaves nothing left over. This means the ruler now treats me poorly, providing only enough food to suffice. Alas! He did not uphold the initial kindness and support. Cheng means to continue or inherit. Quanyu refers to the beginning.
