南平蛮北与涪州接，部落四千馀户。山有毒草及沙虱、蝮蛇。人并楼居，登梯而上，号为“干栏”。其人美发，为椎髻。土多女少男。为婚之法，女氏必先货求男族。贫人无以嫁女，多卖与富人为婢。俗皆妇人执役。其王姓朱氏，号为剑荔王。大唐贞观三年，遣使入朝，以其地隶渝州。
