He bowed twice and kowtowed to decline. The emperor said, "Very well, go ahead!" After three refusals, he finally accepted the appointment. The duke then diligently and respectfully served day and night; his virtue and diligence were extended to all directions, creating a peaceful and respectful atmosphere, thus responding to the great and illustrious mandate of the Son of Heaven. It was said that among the former people who assisted the Son of Heaven, none failed to establish themselves as trusted pillars. They devoted their thoughts completely, following the course of heaven and shining forth virtuous decrees; the duke was also able to continue their worthy policies. Reflecting upon the law, he dared not act unlawfully; Established in sincerity, he dared not be insincere; Established in sincerity, thus enabling him to lead all the feudal lords. Protecting and assisting the imperial household, his meritorious deeds recorded in official histories; the people all said, "How admirable!" Because the emperor remembered his service, on the Dingchou day of the second month, he was transferred to Siku.
