君资天地之正气，含太极之纯精。明洁鲜于白圭，贞操厉乎寒松，视鉴出于自然，英风发乎天受。事亲以孝，则行侔于曾闵；结交以信，则契明于黄石。温温然弘裕虚引，落落然高风起世。信荆山之良宝、灵川之明珠也。爰在弱冠，英风固以扬于四海矣。拜为荆州刺史，仗冲静以临民，施仁义以接物。恩惠著于万里，诚信畼于殊俗。由是抚乱以治，绥扰以静。帝嘉其功，锡以车服。方将埽除寇逆，清一宇宙，廓天步之艰难，宁陵夷之屯否。 |
| | You possess the righteous qi of heaven and earth, and contain the pure essence of Taiji. Your clarity is as pure as white jade, your integrity as firm as the cold pine; your insight arises naturally, and your noble spirit is bestowed by heaven. In serving one's parents with filial piety, his conduct equals that of Zengzi and Minzi; In making friends through trustworthiness, his bond is as clear as that between Huanggai and Shi Guang. He appears warm and magnanimous, modestly leading others; he stands out with a lofty character that inspires the world. Indeed, you are the fine treasure of Jing Mountain and the precious pearl of Lingchuan. Even in his early twenties, his noble spirit had already spread across the four seas. He was appointed as the governor of Jingzhou, governing with calmness and uprightness, and treating people through benevolence and righteousness. His kindness and grace were renowned for ten thousand li, and his sincerity and trustworthiness reached even the most distant customs. Thus, he pacified chaos to bring order and calmed disturbances to restore peace. The emperor commended his achievements and bestowed upon him a carriage and ceremonial robes. He was just about to clear away the bandits and rebels, purify and unify the universe, overcome the hardships of the heavenly path, and bring peace to the people in times of adversity.
