| | The Crown Prince remained at the main temporary residence; three ke before departure, Zuo Shuzi submitted a wooden tablet and reported: "Please prepare." The responsible officials followed established procedures to first report the three preparations with drumbeats as before. The two Wei Lue commanders and others arranged ceremonial guards, halberd records, and processions along the return route according to the same protocol as when arriving. The official in charge of rites arranged positions for palace officials accompanying and following on the left side of the road before the Crown Prince's temporary residence, with both civil and military officials arranged in double rows facing the road. The accompanying officials changed into their mourning attire at their respective temporary residences; attendants then led them to their designated positions in formation. After the three preparations were completed, Zuo Shuzi again presented a report: "All external arrangements are complete." The Crown Prince ascended into his palanquin and then boarded the carriage to return to the palace. Zuo Shuzi's request for permission, as well as the accompanying palace officials and the prohibition of drum and music performances, were all carried out according to the same procedures as when departing. Upon arriving outside Chongming Gate, both civil and military palace officials dismounted their horses; the Three Teachers and the Three Youths each returned to their respective positions. The Crown Prince arrived in front of the hall, turned his carriage around to face south. Zuo Shuzi knelt before him and presented a report: "Please descend from your carriage." He bowed low, then rose to his feet. The Crown Prince descended from his carriage and entered in a palanquin; the attending ministers followed him all the way to the pavilion. Zuo Shuzi made a report requesting the lifting of preparations, and soldiers returned to their respective posts while palace officials withdrew.
